As of December 2020, several vaccine manufacturers around the world have announced positive results in their phase-3 clinical trials. Pfizer, Moderna, AstroZeneca and Chinese state-owned SinoPharm have all reported promising trial reports on safety and efficacy of their vaccines.

Last month Sinopharm said that about 1 million people had been given emergency doses. Trial vaccines have been tested, both inside China and several other countries, mainly on first line medical personnel and high risk patients. Results from trials in the United Arab Emirates have shown China’s Sinopharm vaccine has 86% efficacy.

It is expected for vaccination programs to be rolled out soon in China and vaccines will be available for the general population. Therefore, there is high hopes that international travel will be restored to normal in the first semester of 2021. Then, international students will finally be able to come back or for some, begin their new adventure of studying in China.

If you are a student with plans of studying in China for year 2021, we highly recommend to start preparing for your application as soon as possible.
